The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially begun its 2024 enlistment process for individuals aspiring to join the military as Regular Career Officer Course cadets or Short Service Commission Officers.
According to the announcement, interested candidates can purchase scratch cards for the online application at a cost of GH¢350.00. The cards are available at designated Ghana Post offices nationwide. The deadline for online submissions is Friday, October 11, 2024.
In its recruitment advertisement, GAF emphasized that it does not use intermediaries or charge additional fees beyond the application cost. “The public is therefore strongly advised to desist from paying monies to any person(s) who present themselves as agents or middlemen with the promise to help potential applicants enter the Ghana Military Academy.”
The GAF further urged the public to report any individuals attempting to solicit payment in exchange for assistance with the application process. “The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to state that individuals who present themselves as middlemen, intermediaries, or agents demanding payment in order to assist any candidate(s) should be reported to the nearest Military Installation or Police Station. In the same vein, interested applicants who choose to pay monies to purported agents for help are equally culpable in the fraudulent act,” the statement added.
The GAF’s recruitment drive aims to uphold a transparent and merit-based selection process, warning potential applicants against engaging in fraudulent practices.
