The Black Stars of Ghana have not been their best of forms in recent matches played. According to the German-born Ghanaian, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Ghana can get players born abroad and eligible to choose to play for Ghana by making the National team a lucrative one to attract the attention of Ghanaians.
After Ghana lost to Comoros in a humiliating 2-3 defeat from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ghanaians have expressed their views on how it can be possible to bring in all born abroad and eligible to play for Ghana in order to strengthen the current team of the Black Stars.
Kelvin-Prince Boateng has also expressed his views by joining the conversation.
“You have to make it attractive to play for Ghana,” he said in a Twitter space with fans after the embarrassing 3-2 defeat to Comoros.
“Come on, Ghana is one of the biggest countries. Some of the biggest players in the world come from Ghana.
“They (Black Stars) lost against Comoros I don’t know one player from there, without being disrespectful.
“You have to make the people willing to come and play for their country. You have to win games and show them that it is good to play there, you have the big stage. Because everybody’s always like, yeah, I need the big stage.
“I didn’t think about the big stage I just kind of like found my roots and I turned out to play an amazing 2010 World Cup.
“The Ghana team that was out there wasn’t bad but they were not playing as a team. They were not playing together like you saw in the game, everybody was running around everywhere.
“Then you cannot judge the coach, you cannot judge the players, It’s like the mix of everything.”
