Ghanaian teachers are expressing deep disappointment and frustration after the much-anticipated November Continuous Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) and the Complementary Instruction Digital Support Allowance (CIDSA) failed to reflect in their salaries paid on 25th November 2025.
The two allowances, which were merged for payment this month, were expected to come as a double financial boost. However, teachers woke up to salaries that did not include the promised package, leaving many unsettled and angry.
According to unconfirmed sources, the combined CPDA and CIDSA have been withheld for November. The decision is reportedly linked to ongoing consultations between the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education, and other stakeholders. Sources emphasize that the allowances have not been cancelled, but rather deferred to a later date, which officials are expected to communicate soon.
Across various teacher platforms, reactions have been intense. Many educators say they feel disrespected and neglected, especially at a time when the cost of living continues to rise. Others have openly criticized the government for what they describe as repeated delays and unfulfilled promises.
Teacher unions are yet to issue an official statement, but the absence of the allowances has already ignited widespread discussion and calls for clarity from authorities.
As the situation unfolds, teachers across the country await an official explanation — and more importantly — a new date for the payment of their allowances.
