GOAT Effect: Al Nassr Hit 7.6m Followers In Three Days After Signing Ronaldo 

Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have gained over 7.6 million followers on Instagram in less than a week since telling about the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the Evening of Monday, January 2, 2023, checks indicated that their Instagram page had 850,000 followership before Ronaldo’s official announcement.

The Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Al Nassr on a two-year contract in an agreement worth €200m per year with the inclusion of other commercial benefits.

The 37-year-old Portugal captain was a free agent after leaving Manchester United following a controversial interview in which he heavily criticised the club.

Al Nassr, nine-time Saudi Pro League champions, described the signing of former Real Madrid star as “history in the making.”

The Saudi club have said on Twitter that the signing has the ability to inspire the entire Pro league and the generation unborn but not just the club

Reports state Ronaldo will receive $75 million per year and has signed a contract through to the summer of 2025. This makes the five times Ballon d’Or winner the highest paid player in history of football.
