Ghanaians were moved by emotional words shared during the final farewell of Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba. One line from a tribute read on behalf of his second wife, Odo Broni, stood out strongly: “I was your joy, your peace, your chosen resting place.”

The burial and funeral rites were held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Hundreds of fans, musicians, family members, and important personalities gathered to honour the life and legacy of the music icon. The funeral went on as planned after months of tension and court issues involving members of Daddy Lumba’s maternal family, which had earlier threatened to delay the ceremony to March 2026.

During the reading of tributes, emotions ran high. A video that later went viral showed Odo Broni, known in private life as Priscilla Ofori, crying uncontrollably as her tribute was read. Family members stood by her side to support her as she mourned openly.

Many people paid attention to the strong and personal words used in her tribute. She spoke about the love, care, and protection Daddy Lumba gave to her and their children while he was alive. Her message reflected the deep bond she said they shared as a family.

Some parts of the tribute also sparked public discussion. Odo Broni spoke about pain and unfair treatment, calling on Daddy Lumba’s spirit to see the truth of her relationship with him. She said love and truth should not be buried under cruelty and lies, and made it clear she would not remain silent in the face of mistreatment.

Reactions on social media were mixed. While many praised her for being honest and brave, others felt the message was a hidden attack on Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, and his maternal family. Despite the different views, one thing was clear: Odo Broni’s tribute became one of the most memorable moments of Daddy Lumba’s final farewell.
