The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted thirty (30) police officers for their excellent performance in recent security operations.

The promotions were announced on Monday, 5th January, 2025. They were given in recognition of the officers’ bravery, alertness, and hard work during operations that led to the recovery of 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition at the Kantanso–Asankare Police Barrier in the Ashanti Region. The officers also played key roles in breaking up a robbery gang along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta road during the Christmas season.

The promoted officers showed high levels of professionalism and commitment to duty.

In addition, twenty other officers from the Intelligence units of the Ashanti and Ashanti South Regional Police Commands were promoted. Their intelligence-led operations at Manso Nkwanta, Antoakrom, and nearby areas led to the recovery of firearms and ammunition, the breaking up of robbery groups, and the prevention of planned attacks on road users.

The IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), praised the officers for their courage and vigilance. He said their actions helped prevent dangerous weapons from getting into the hands of criminals.

The IGP encouraged all police officers to continue working with discipline and professionalism, adding that the Police Administration will always recognize and reward hard work and dedication to duty.
