Kade Court Fines Four Youths GHC 3,800 Each Over Assault on SHS Teacher

The Kade Magistrate Court has imposed a fine of GHC 3,800 each on four youths for assaulting a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School.

Presiding judge, His Worship George Davis Ofori, ordered that GHC 1,800 from each fine be paid to the court, while the remaining GHC 2,000 is to be paid to the victim as compensation.

In total, the assaulted teacher is expected to receive GHC 8,000 as compensation for the pain and suffering he endured. The court explained that the fines are intended both as punishment and as a means of providing relief to the victim.

The court further ruled that any of the convicted youths who fail to pay the full fine will serve a six-month prison sentence.
