Messi To Reunite With Ronaldo, Reps In Talk Over $400 Saudi Arabia Move [Details]
PSG star, Lionel Messi is set to rival Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
Per Telegraph, the representatives of the Argentine, led by his father Jorge, are in talks on a $400M-per-season (£320 million) contract to play in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Ittihad, with the Saudi government said to be involved in discussion.
If the move materialises, it would make Messi the highest-paid player in football. His contact would exceed even the £165 million that Cristiano Ronaldo is being paid annually to play for Al-Nassr until the summer of 2025.
Spanish Football giant, FC Barcelona have also contacted the reps of Messi over a possible move to Camp Nou.
Messi is currently serving a suspension of two weeks away from the PSG team for his unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia earlier this week.
He is a tourism ambassador for Saudi Arabia and visited the country with his family as part of the ambassadorial deal.
