Mohammed Kudus Rejects Deal Extension With Ajax
Ghanaian midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has rejected to sign an extension of deal with his current club Ajax.
According to news reports by The Athletic, Mohammed Kudus has declined a 1-year extension to his current contract which ends in 2025.
The former Right To Dream academy star has reportedly informed the club of his wish to leave. Ajax will be looking for around £40million in any deal involving the midfielder if they sell.
Kudus signed for Eredivisie club Ajax on July 16, 2020 for a fee of €9 million, on a five-year deal.
The young talisman netted one goal and provided three assists in his first three appearances for Ajax.
Mohammed Kudus since joining Ajax:
• 20/21 – 9 starts in 22 games
• 21/22 – 9 starts in 20 games
• 22/23 – 28 starts in 41 games
Kudus has started in 67.5% of games this season. I feel staying would be better than United or Arsenal making him a squad player.
Even thought there is uncertainty at Ajax concerning a potential new coach and sporting director, It is sure Kudus has cemented a place in the first team and should see out another full season as a starter.
Meanwhile, Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are eying the Ghanaian youngster.
