Mother and Three Children Perish in Devastating Fire at Gyinyase, Ashanti Region

Gyinyase, Ashanti Region – Tragedy struck in the early hours of Saturday, February 8, 2025, when a fierce fire engulfed a home in Gyinyase, claiming the lives of a mother and her three children.

The victims have been identified as Linda Kusi, a nurse at the Kumasi South Government Hospital, and her three children. According to Asaase news seen by Sixscribes.com, ec recommendations yewitnesses report that the family was trapped inside the burning building, and despite frantic efforts by neighbors to rescue them, the intensity of the flames rendered access impossible.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after being alerted, managing to put out the blaze. However, by the time they reached the victims, they were found burnt beyond recognition in the bathroom, where they had likely sought refuge from the fire.

Three other occupants of the house were successfully rescued and are currently receiving treatment at the Kumasi South Hospital.

Authorities have since transported the remains of the deceased to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for preservation and autopsy. Meanwhile, police and fire service officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

The tragic incident has left the Gyinyase community in mourning, with residents expressing shock and sorrow over the heartbreaking loss.
