Renowned media personality MzGee has publicly clarified details about her marriage and divorce from Raymond Acquah, revealing that they have been separated for three years and officially divorced for the past two.
The television host made this revelation in a video posted on her social media platforms while introducing her new vlog series, Gee O’clock. She explained that she felt compelled to address the issue after some media outlets mistakenly attached her former husband’s surname to hers while reporting the birth of her baby boy.
“I am Gloria Apkene Nyarku with no Acquah. I have no documentation that bears the name Acquah. It used to be, but it no longer is,” she emphasized. MzGee also made it clear that her son does not carry the Acquah name and is not connected to her former husband.
Despite the separation, MzGee stated that she and Raymond Acquah remain on good terms, which is why neither of them had publicly spoken about their divorce earlier. However, she urged the public to respect her ex-husband’s privacy, saying, “Please refrain from referring to my son as an Acquah and to me as Mrs. Acquah.”
MzGee, who currently hosts United Showbiz on UTV, also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to her fans, friends, and family for their support throughout her pregnancy and after giving birth in the United States. She particularly extended her appreciation to her employers—Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Fadda Dickson, and the entire Despite Media team—for their generosity in granting her six months of paid maternity leave instead of the usual three.
Her return to content creation with Gee O’clock marks a fresh chapter in her career. She explained that while she had explored similar content in the past, this time, she is making a more structured comeback.
MzGee’s candid revelations have since sparked discussions online, with many commending her transparency and others respecting her request for privacy regarding her personal life.
