The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced updated charges for acquiring the Ghana Card, effective May 1, 2024. These adjustments, outlined in the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations, 2023 (L.I. 2481), reflect the evolving landscape of identification services in the country.

In a statement released on their official Facebook page, the NIA outlined the revised rates for three key service categories: First Time Registration, Card Replacement, and Personal Information Updates. Notably, all charges in foreign currency will be converted to Ghana cedis for payment purposes.

With the implementation of these updated rates, the NIA aims to streamline and enhance the accessibility and efficiency of its identification services, further bolstering Ghana’s national identity infrastructure.
