Bogoso, Western Region — September 6, 2023
Law enforcement officers apprehended two suspects involved in a daring robbery at a mining company located in Bogoso, Western Region, on the evening of September 6th, 2023.
The assailants, identified as Derrick Kwabena and Daniel Ofori, also known as Denotobe, were part of a group of eight individuals who targeted the mining facility, subsequently engaging in a confrontation with on-duty police personnel.
Quick thinking and determined action on the part of the police resulted in the immediate capture of Derrick Kwabena at the scene, while his cohorts managed to evade authorities.
Subsequent investigations led to the apprehension of suspect Daniel Ofori, who was discovered awaiting the escape party in a Toyota Hilux pickup vehicle.
A search of the suspects and their vehicle uncovered a cache of evidence, including a quantity of gold concentrate concealed within a fertilizer sack, along with a pistol, a cutlass, five BB cartridges, and an assortment of talismans. The authorities also seized the Toyota Hilux pickup bearing registration number GN 3020-17.
Both suspects are presently in lawful custody, and an ongoing operation is underway to locate and detain the remaining individuals involved in the heist, ensuring they are brought to justice.
