Ghana Police Has Arrested Two Suspects in Connection with the Murder of a 35-Year-Old Woman at Apaaso near Sokoban Ampabame in the Ashanti Region
In a targeted intelligence-led operation, the police have apprehended two individuals believed to be involved in the tragic murder of 35-year-old Princess Afia Ahenkan at Apaaso near Sokoban Ampabame in the Ashanti Region.
The investigation was initiated following a police report regarding the disappearance of Ms. Ahenkan, which led to the grim discovery of her lifeless body in the garage of her residence, meticulously examined by police crime scene experts.
Subsequent to intensive inquiry, law enforcement officers successfully tracked down and arrested Allister John, the deceased’s househelp, and his accomplice, James Anokye, in Accra. Anokye had attempted to evade authorities by absconding with the victim’s KIA Sportage private car, registered under GS 307-21, which they subsequently sold.
The vehicle, traced to Adenta, has been recovered along with its documentation and is presently impounded at the Oyibi Police Station for further examination. Authorities are actively engaged in locating the purchaser of the vehicle to aid in the ongoing investigation.
Simultaneously, the remains of the deceased have been transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and a thorough autopsy.
This tragic incident has left the community in shock, and local authorities are assuring the public that every effort will be made to ensure justice is served in this case. The Police are urging anyone with additional information related to this crime to come forward and assist in the investigation.
