At 9:45 AM on Easter Monday, Cardinal Kevin Farrell shared the news with the world. He said, “Dear brothers and sisters, with a heavy heart, I must tell you that our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has died. He returned to God this morning. He spent his whole life serving God and the Church. He taught us to follow the message of Jesus with love, courage, and care for everyone, especially the poor and people who are often forgotten.”
Pope Francis became Pope in 2013 and was the first Pope from South America. He was known for being humble, kind, and close to the people. He tried to make the Church more caring and focused on helping others.
Many people around the world are sad about his death. They remember him as a man who truly lived like Jesus, showing love to all.
