SAD: Mass Burial Held for 15 Saviour Church Members K!lled in Obogu Acc!dent

Obogu, Ashanti Region – July 31, 2025: A cloud of sorrow hangs over the town of Obogu in the Asante Akyem South Municipality as a mass burial is held for 15 members of the Saviour Church of Ghana who lost their lives in a devastating accident earlier this week.

The tragic incident occurred on the Atwedie stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, around 2:30 p.m. According to reports, the victims were traveling back to Obogu after attending their church’s annual convention in the Eastern Region when their vehicle collided head-on with a fuel tanker coming from the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses described the crash as horrific, with many of the victims dying instantly due to the severity of the impact. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but there was little they could do to save those trapped inside the mangled vehicle.

The mass burial, held today, was attended by hundreds of mourners, including grieving family members, church leaders, residents, and local authorities. Emotions ran high as the community came together to pay their final respects and support the bereaved families.

This tragedy has sent shockwaves throughout the Ashanti Region, with many calling for enhanced road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such devastating incidents.
