President Akufo-Addo Appoints Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh As Head Of Civil Service.
The president of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh as head of the Civil Service of Ghana, effective immediately.
In a letter signed by the secretary to the president, Nana Bediatuo Asante, dated August 2, 2023 [Ref. No. OPS 101 |1| 735], Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh has up to two weeks to accept or reject his new appointment.
“Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment within 14 days of receipt of this letter.”
Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh was congratulated by the president for his appointment as his appointment is in accordance with the constitution of Ghana.
“Pursuant to Article 193(1) of the Constitution and Section 6 (1) of the Civil Service Act, 1993(PNDC 327), I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the head of the Civil Service, pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the Public Services Commission”
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh was the chief director at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. He was also a political science lecture at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The Civil Service has the one of the highest responsibilities of assisting the government of Ghana in formulating and implementing policies for the development of the country.
