President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The appointment, made in line with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution and in consultation with the Council of State, was announced in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
COP Yohuno takes over from COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare. With 40 years of experience in the Ghana Police Service, he is expected to lead efforts to modernize and transform the police force.
The government expressed confidence in his leadership and urged the police service to support him in maintaining law and order across the country.
