Scientists Have Confirmed Male Contraceptive Which Is 99% Effective In Preventing Pregnancy.

A group of testers who were working on a male prophylactic pill that will prevent pregnancy, have found the oral drug to be 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy in mice.

The news was made known in a presentation at the spring meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS). The finding which reported no side effects actually resulted from animal testing of the non-hormonal pill.

Condoms, vasectomy and other traditional methods are currently used by men to prevent themselves from impregnating their wives and sex partners.

According to a graduate student involved in the research, Dr Abdullah Al Noman, 

“Scientists have been trying for decades to develop an effective male oral contraceptive, but there are still no approved pills on the market.

He added that,

“We wanted to develop a non-hormonal male contraceptive to avoid these side effects.

This contraceptive, if finally confirmed to be effective in human, will be on the market in a couple of months.
