Award winning American actor, Morgan Freeman, has been the talk of the internet globally after manning the iconic performance during the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar. The Hollywood actor who has an enviable niche of deep-voiced narration and unique acting skills starred the foremost show on Qatar Mundial with an ‘inclusion’ message to all soccer lovers.
The veteran actor made a narration titled ’The Calling’ reminding everyone that “We all come together here in one big tribe”, irrespective of colour, race, country, language, etc. Viewers described the opener as “…the most beautiful, charismatic and heart warming world cup opening ceremony ever” as Mr. Freeman headlined the show.
Morgan Freeman, 85, was actually the surprise of the ceremony alongside the Arabian Ghanim Muftah.“This is a call to the whole world. Soccer brings people and nations together. There is a common thread of hope and respect. Soccer expands the world, it unites nations in their love for this precious game. What brings nations together, brings communities together. We all have a soccer history, and so does Qatar.” — the actor narrated.
Morgan Freeman was born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennesee, and only graduated Street High School in 1955. He started his acting career after serving the military in the mid-1960s when he appeared in an off-Broadway production of a play titled ‘The Niggerlovers and Pearl Bailey’ in an all-African-American Broadway production of Hello, Dolly! He debuted in the film ‘Who Says I Can’t Ride a Rainbow!’ in 1971 and has since been featured in a number of high-profile movies.
