A disturbing incident has occurred at TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Wa, where a final-year student was allegedly stabbed by a colleague following a heated argument over an alleged nude video recorded without consent.

The violent confrontation occurred on the school campus. According to sources, the incident stemmed from a dispute over a mobile phone video that the suspect claimed had been taken of him without his knowledge or permission.

Speaking to Graphic Online, the Upper West Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Darko Offei Lomotey, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said he is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The police have since arrested the suspect, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of minors. Plain-clothed officers have also been deployed to the school to assist with investigations and maintain calm on the campus.

DCOP Lomotey assured the public that the matter is being handled with urgency and professionalism. “We have taken swift action to ensure the safety of all students and to gather all necessary evidence. Investigations are ongoing, and we will ensure that justice is served,” he said.

School Authorities React

Authorities at the TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School have yet to issue an official statement, but sources within the school say emergency meetings are underway to discuss the incident and its implications for student safety and discipline.

Community Shocked

The incident has left students, parents, and residents of Wa in shock, with many expressing concern over growing tensions and indiscipline among students in some senior high schools. There are also renewed calls for schools to improve monitoring of student behavior, especially regarding the use of mobile phones on campus.

As the investigation continues, child protection advocates and education stakeholders are urging caution and privacy in handling the matter due to the sensitive nature of the alleged video and the ages of those involved.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim’s family and schoolmates are hoping for a full recovery as he continues to receive medical attention.

The suspect is expected to be formally charged after police conclude their initial investigations.
