Luis Suarez, the seasoned Uruguayan striker, has officially sealed the deal with Inter Miami, setting the stage for a reunion with former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi. 

The 36-year-old, coming off a stellar year with Gremio, has now become part of the roster for the Florida-based club, co-owned by the legendary David Beckham.

Suarez’s prolific performance at Gremio saw him netting an impressive 17 goals and contributing 11 assists in 33 league appearances. Despite the individual success, Gremio narrowly missed out on the title to Palmeiras. Now, Suarez brings his formidable skills to Inter Miami, not only reuniting with Messi but also reigniting the on-field chemistry with two other familiar faces from Barcelona, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

As Inter Miami prepares for the 2024 Major Soccer League season, Suarez’s presence adds a new dimension to the team. The opening match on February 22 against Real Salt Lake promises to be a highlight, marking Suarez’s debut in the iconic pink and black jersey. 

Ahead of the competitive season, Inter Miami, holders of the Leagues Cup, has scheduled warm-up friendlies against Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Vissel Kobe, and Newell’s Old Boys, providing an exciting preview of the team’s potential.
