Teachers Can Use Their Certificates to Pursue Law and Other Courses in Future — Lawyer

Teacher trainees have been encouraged to broaden their horizons by exploring professional opportunities beyond the classroom, including the study of law, using their teaching certificates as a foundation.

This was revealed at a gathering held at St. Monica’s College of Education, where management invited a legal practitioner to orient students on alternative career paths available to them. The lawyer explained that a teaching certificate does not limit graduates to classroom work alone, but can serve as a valid entry qualification into other professional fields such as law and related disciplines.

Mr. Bosco Aboagye, Head of the Department of Social Sciences at the college, reiterated the importance of the session. He said the orientation was deliberately organised to prepare teacher trainees for life beyond teaching and to help them appreciate the multiple doors their certificates can open.

According to him, the initiative forms part of efforts to equip students with broader perspectives about their future, enabling them to adapt to changing career demands and opportunities in Ghana and beyond.

The session was well received by the trainees, many of whom expressed excitement about the possibility of venturing into other professional fields while still holding their teaching backgrounds as a solid base.
