The authorities have launched a vigorous pursuit of Henry Fitz and his associates on charges of conspiracy to commit the crime of non-consensual sharing of intimate images. The victim in this distressing case is Serwaa Amihere, a prominent media personality residing in Tse Addo, Acera.
The accused accomplices identified in this case are Al Edem Saviour Ketti, a filmmaker based in Adjininganor, A2 Candylove Kwakyewaa Ababio, a trader residing in Achimota Kingsby, Accra, and main person A3 Henry Amponsah, known as Henry Fitz at large.
The unsettling sequence of events began on December 3, 2023, when the makeup artist of Serwaa Amihere contacted her, revealing that an individual had demanded a sum of GHe5,000.00 under the pretext of possessing nude images of the complainant. The demanded amount was to be sent to an MTN mobile money account registered under the name Edem Saviour Ketti, with the number 0558247205.
The situation took a more alarming turn on April 2, 2024, when another demand was made through the MTN number 0555252660, this time demanding GHe20,000.00 within a minute, threatening to publicly share nude videos of the complainant if the ransom was not met. Despite compliance with the demand, the perpetrator proceeded to share the private images on various social media platforms.
In response to the escalating situation, the complainant filed a formal complaint with the police on April 3, 2024. Following swift investigative measures, Al was apprehended at his hideout in Dzorwulu. During interrogation, Al confessed to utilizing his Ghana Card to register the MTN mobile money account linked to the extortion scheme. He admitted to passing the same account information to A2, who subsequently shared it with A3, Henry Fitz.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend A3 and bring him to justice. The case is under active investigation as authorities work diligently to ensure that all individuals involved in this reprehensible act are held accountable for their actions.
This case underscores the critical need for robust legal measures to combat cyber exploitation and protect individuals from the violation of their privacy and dignity. The state remains resolute in its commitment to upholding justice and safeguarding the rights of its citizens.
