2022 World Cup: Morocco Walk Over Spain, Win 3:0 On Penalties To Reach Quarter Finals

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have defeated Spain to progress the round of 8 stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The match ended goalless at 90 minutes of play with both teams having attempted a lot of shots on target but to no avail.

After the two halves of extra time, Abdelhamid Sarabia, Hakim Ziyech and Acraft Hakimi scored penalty shots against Spain. Badr Banoune was the only Moroccan who missed his penalty on the third kick. Spain on the other hand, missed all their three attempts in disappointment.

Morocco are the only African country to reach this stage in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. They join Ghana, Senegal and Cameroon as the 4th African nation to reach the quarter finals stage since the start of the tournament in 1930
