74 Ghana Nationals Arrive At Kotoka Airport After Evacuation From War-Torn Sudan

74 Ghanaians Successfully Arrive In Ghana After Evacuation From War-Torn Sudan

Exactly seventy-four Ghanaian nationals have arrived in Ghana after being evacuated from war-torn Sudan.

The evacuees who arrived at exactly 1120 hours aboard Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET921 at the Kotoka International Airport, had a warm welcome from the Deputy Minister Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong

After their reception from the minister, an amount of GH₵500.00 was presented to each of the evacuees, most of whom are students.

The amount, Mr Ampratwum-Sarpong said was to aid the evacuees continue their journey to their respective homes.

Prior to the evacuation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in a statement said 76 Ghanaian nationals had successfully crossed the Sudan-Ethiopia border with the assistance of officials of the Ghana Embassy in Ethiopia and were stationed in Addis Ababa.

Arrangements were then placed to fly 74 of them to Accra on Tuesday May 2, which has been successful as all 74 are safe in Ghana.
