The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed the tragic death of an 8-year-old girl after a fierce fire swept through the Dansoman Market in Accra in the early hours of Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

According to the Service, the young girl was trapped in one of the affected sections of the market and could not be rescued as the flames spread rapidly. Her severely burnt body has since been handed over to the police for preservation and further investigation.
