Seoul, Saturday October 29, 2022 , SIXSCRIBES – Officials have reported that a lot of people have died in a stampede among huge Halloween crowds in South Korea’s capital, Seoul.
Although the main cause of the start of death is not known as the night was supposed to be a usual nightlife of the people, earlier social media posts reveal that people were overcrowded at the Itaewon area which made it unsafe.
The night marked the first face off Halloween in Seoul in three years after the country eased corona virus restrictions.
Videos and photos showed the police trying to break people free, emergency workers performing CPR and rescuers forcing to releases people from traps.
Meanwhile Choi Seong-beom, chief of Seoul’s Yongsan fire department, told the AP news agency that “A number of people fell during a Halloween festival, and we have a large number of casualties.”
It was further reported that many of the casualties were women in their twenties.
