Atsu’s Local Manager Describes The Player’s Rescue As A Miracle, Relates It To The Charity Works He Does
Ghana International who plays for Turkish club Hatayspor was trapped under rubble following an earthquake in Turkey.
After he was rescued 24 hours later, Mr. Abdul Hayye Yartey, the local Manager of Christian Atsu has described the entire situation as a “miracle”.
According to Ghana’s public news agency, gna.org.Gh, Mr. Abdul Hayye Yartey believes Atsu was possibly saved because of his generous donations to the poor and the needy.
The local manager of the player could only relate it to a supernatural experience after the player survived being trapped under rubble from the 7.7 magnitude earthquake on Monday.
“This is huge and miraculous. To be under the debris for about 24 hours and come out safe is great news. We are all happy here and we pray he didn’t suffer major injuries.
“Yesterday, when I got in touch with his orphanage, the director told me the kids were crying and praying for his safety. Atsu helps people he comes across everywhere, and for me, there is much blessing in giving”, Mr. Abdul Hayye Yartey said as quoted by GNA.
Meanwhile, renowned journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has also posted a similar feeling by quoting Psalm 41:1-3 with Atsu’s photo on social media.
“Blessed is the one who cares for the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of trouble.
“The LORD will protect and preserve him; He will bless him in the land and refuse to surrender him to the will of his foes.
“The LORD will sustain him on his bed of illness and restore him from his bed of sickness.” – Manasseh Azure quoted.
The disaster has reportedly claimed more than 5,000 lives with over 15,000 injured in Turkey and over the border in Syria.
The World Health Organization has warned the toll may rise dramatically as rescuers find more victims.
