Current Update: We Do Not Know His Whereabouts – Hatayspor Team Doctor & Friend Wakaso On Atsu
Following many reports that the Ghanaian international has been rescued from being trapped under rubble, Hatayspor team doctor, Gurbey Kahveci has reported that the player can not be located in any hospital.
“When we heard the news that “he was taken to Dortyol Hospital”, we especially went and looked, but it was not there. At the moment, we accept that [the sporting director] Taner Savut and Christian Atsu were not found, unfortunate.” – Team Doctor said as quoted by Hurriyet Turkey.
One of Christian Atsu’s closest friends, Mubarak Wakaso, has also come out to state that the player can not be located in any hospital which has created a lot of worry for loved ones.
“Following yesterdays update from the club that, Christian had been pulled out alive, we are yet to confirm Christian’s whereabouts.
As you can imagine, this continues to be a devastating time for his family and we are doing everything we can to locate Christian.
Official updates will be provided as more information comes to light. Please respect the families privacy during this harrowing time, and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated news as this will only hamper the search efforts for Christian. Thank you for all your prayers and support.” – Mubarak Wakaso said.
Christian Atsu was said to be on the 9th floor of the building when the 7.7 magnitude earthquake stroke on Monday.
