The Portuguese Soccer team have walked over the Switzerlands with a 5:1 win to secure a spot in the next round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup competition in Qatar (Round 8).
Goncalo Ramos who scored three, opened scores for Portugal with a left foot smash in the 17th minute. Pepe headed another one in to make it two. Additional goals from Goncalo and Raphael Guerreiro made it 4:0 even before the 55th minutes of play.
Switzerland pulled one back, a consolation from Manuel Akanji in the 58th minute that gave them hope to come back into the game but their joy was short lived when Portugal added two more goals to make it 6:1 as the game ended.
Goncalo Ramos is the first player to score a hattrick in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup. He started ahead of 5 times Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, and proved himself capable of the spot in the selection.
