How Wode Maya Fought Immigration Officials At Ghana-Togo Border To Escape Bribe [Watch]
Top Ghanaian YouTuber, Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, popularly known as Wode Maya has emotionally narrated in a video, how his cameras were seized for recording dealings and his refusal to pay exit bribes to the immigration officials at the Ghana-Togo border.
According to him, his team as well as other travellers were delayed unduly at the borders because they had to pay a certain amount of money to the officials by which they would not be used receipts to that effect.
During his narration, the officials demanded 2,000 CFA (GHC41.13) before his travel documents could be endorsed.
Wode Maya revealed in a YouTube video that one official invited him into a room to calm matters down but he vehemently refused to pay the bribe.
To the YouTuber, Africans should unite since they are one people and should not allow borders to cut differences between them as the colonizers did. To him, borders are created in Africa to frustrate and intimidate travellers.
