The Chief of Kwahu, Daasebre Akuamuah Boateng III, has met with the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, to discuss the long delay in completing the Nkawkaw Stadium project.

The meeting was aimed at finding a solution between the NSA and businessman Bryan Acheampong so that work on the stadium can start again.

Construction of the stadium stopped in June after the NSA asked for legal documents related to the project. The NSA boss explained that work would only continue when all building rules and approvals were properly followed.

After the meeting, Daasebre Akuamuah Boateng III told journalists that, as the traditional leader, he feels responsible for ensuring that the stadium project is completed well.

“He has explained everything to us, and we understand his position. As traditional leaders, we will help mediate so that the master plan from 2008 to 2022 is finally completed,” he said.

Mr. Ampofo Ankrah also said he is ready to cooperate and allow construction to continue once all requirements are met by Abetifi MP, Bryan Acheampong. He thanked the Kwahuhene and his team for the visit and said the Nkawkaw Stadium is part of the NSA’s plan to improve sports facilities across the country.

The Kwahuhene was joined by the Mpraeso Kontihene, Nana Abra Appiah, football administrator Oduro Nyarko, and members of his legal team.

Meanwhile, Hon. Bryan Acheampong, the MP for Abetifi and a presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had earlier promised to personally renovate the Nkawkaw Stadium. However, ongoing discussions with the government and other agencies have reportedly made it difficult for him to carry out the plan.
