Senegalese attacker Sadio Mane has been reportedly ruled out of the 26-man squad to represent the Senegal national team due to an injury.
The Bayern Munich forward was substituted in the 20th minute of the first half of a 6-1 win league match against Werder Bremen. Leroy Sane replaced the ex-Liverpool man when he was seen unfit to continue the match.
Sadio is to undergo X-ray to check the intensity of his injury as World Cup hopes is thrown into jeopardy. His Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann has said, ‘He took a knock to the head of his tibia,’… ‘It’s always uncomfortable. He has to have an X-ray. I hope nothing is wrong.” According to L’Equipe, the player will not be fit for the Qatar 2022 competition which is a big blow for Senegal and Africa as a whole.
Mane joined Bayern for a few of £35million and has been scored 11 goals, assisting 4 times in 23 appearances in all competitions for the German club.
