A tragic accident at Adugyama in the Ahafo Ano South East District of the Ashanti Region has claimed the life of a nursery pupil after a heavy-duty truck loaded with lumber lost control and overturned.
The deceased, identified as Daniel, met his untimely death on Monday, October 28, 2025, when the truck, carrying large timber logs, veered off its path at Aburaso near Adugyama.
According to eyewitnesses as reported by 3News seen by Sixscribes, three children were walking home from school when the incident occurred. Logs from the truck, with registration number GE 9901-11, slipped off and crashed onto them, instantly killing Daniel and injuring two others.
The injured children were rescued and rushed to the Bechem Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Sadly, Daniel was pronounced dead upon arrival at the same facility.
One resident recounted the heartbreaking scene:
“Daniel and his friends were returning from school when the truck’s load suddenly gave way. The logs fell directly onto the children, killing Daniel instantly.”
The devastating accident has plunged the community into mourning as residents struggle to come to terms with the loss of such a young life.
Meanwhile, the Police have launched an investigation into the incident and have cordoned off the area to ensure safety and facilitate the ongoing inquiry.
