Six Dead in Adansi Dompoase Crash Involving VIP Bus and Sprinter

Adansi Dompoase, Ashanti Region – A tragic accident near the new Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) office at Adansi Dompoase has claimed six lives, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

In a statement issued by the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Office, the GNFS said it received a distress call at 12:43 p.m. on Friday and quickly dispatched a rescue team to the scene. The operation, led by ADOII Samuel Mensah, found a VIP bus with registration number GW 8455-23 and a Benz Sprinter, GS 6383-20, involved in a devastating collision.

Rescuers reported that the Sprinter was completely mangled from the rear, while the VIP bus suffered partial damage to its front.

The GNFS confirmed that the rescue operation was completed by 1:28 p.m. Six deceased victims were handed over to the Police, while one injured person was rushed to the Fomena Government Hospital for urgent medical care.

Authorities say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
