Three Arrested Over Murder of Abamba Queen Mother

The Ghana Police Service in the Bono East Region has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of the Queen mother of Abamba near Amantin in the Atebubu area.

The suspects, identified as Rafiu Haruna, Muftawu Adamu, and Michael Owusu Spermi, were picked up during an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Bono East Regional Police Command.

According to the police, the victim, Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan, who served as the Queen mother of Abamba near Amantin, was shot at her residence around the Methodist Church area in Atebubu on February 25, 2026.

Following investigations, the police successfully tracked down and arrested the three suspects believed to be connected to the crime.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations as authorities continue their efforts to identify and arrest all other individuals involved in the murder.

The development was confirmed in an official statement released on March 10, 2026, and signed by ASP Mr. Appiah Danquah, Staff Officer and Public Relations Officer for the Bono East Regional Police Command.
