End-Of-Year Prophesy: Police Warns, Reminds Prophets To Desist From Illegal Communication As 31st Night Approaches.
Tuesday December 27, 2022, SIXSCRIBES — Ghana Police Service has drawn the attention of the general public, especially pastors, prophets and leaders of religious groups to refrain from illegal communication of prophesies and comply to the laws of speech in order to ensure that the security and order of the country are maintained.
Over the years, December 31st night services have become a feature of Ghana’s end-of-year activities with promising and mostly doom prophesies dominating church services.
These doom sayings which are declared publicly have created fear, panic and insecurity among affected believers.
To curb public panic declarations, the law enforcement body has urged all religious leaders to be circumspect in relaying prophetic messages to their members and other affected people.
These prophesies were unchecked until last year when Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare (PhD), assumed office.
In a press release, the Police stands firmly on enforcing serenity even even during and after 2022’s 31st night church services.
“As the year 2022 draws to a close, we wish to once again entreat the general public, especially faith-based groups to ensure continuous compliance with the law as it relates to the communication of prophecies.
Let us continue to remember that whereas we have the right to practise our faith in religion, freedom of worship and speech, this right must not be exercised in violation of the rights of others and the public interest.” Part of the statement released on December 27, 2022 read.
Meanwhile, the Police has declared December 27 of each calendar year as the date set as “Prophecy Communication Compliance Day” to remind the general public of their rights to exercise their faiths free from fear.
“As part of sustaining the gains made so far, the Police Service has adopted 27th December of each year as the Prophecy Communication Compliance Day. This day is being set aside to remind all of us, to practice our faith within the confines of the law to ensure a safe, secure environment, free of anxiety generated from predictions of impending harm, danger, or death” — the statement said
