The Ghana Education Service (GES) has unveiled the subject lineup for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), setting the stage for students’ academic endeavors this year.
In a communique dated March 1, 2024, Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Acting Director of Schools and Instructions Division, representing the Director-General of GES, formally disseminated the approved subject list. The release delineated subjects categorized as mandatory, elective, and optional.
Under the directive, all Regional Directors are tasked with vigilant oversight to ensure strict adherence to the approved subject roster during the registration process for the impending BECE.
The mandatory subjects prescribed for registration comprise English Language, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, Religious and Moral Education, Career Technology, and Creative Arts and Design.
Additionally, Ghanaian languages have been designated as elective subjects, while French, Arabic, and Computing have been included as optional subjects.
This release signals the commencement of preparations for the upcoming BECE, underscoring GES’s commitment to maintaining educational standards and facilitating the academic journey of Ghana’s youth.
