Marriage, July 27, SIXSCRIBES- Former president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama celebrates 30 years of marriage today.
Mr. Mahama has been married to Mrs. Lordina Mahama since July, 1992 – a blissful 5years after their silver jubilee.
In a Facebook post seen by sixscribes.com, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) posted a soothing message to eulogize his wife, Lordina, and to celebrate their union.
“Marriage is a blessing when it is with the right person. In my wife, Lordina, I have found a life-partner with whom I have shared every step of life’s journey this past 30 years and more.” -John Drahama said in a post.
As part of their celebration, John Dramani Mahama, and his wife, Lordina have inaugurated and presented to the Bole Community in the Savanna Region, a 45-bed maternity and children’s ward in the Bole District Hospital. They built and presented the twin wards to the people of Bole and surrounding communities at a colourful ceremony on Tuesday July 26.
“I am a very proud man and husband this afternoon, and I want to thank my wife, Lordina, her organization- the Lordina Foundation, their partners, and our friends who supported us, and ensured that this LORDINA FOUNDATION MATERNITY AND CHILDREN’S WARD was ready and on time for today’s handing over to the Bole Community and the hospital”, Mr. Mahama said.
Mahama becomes the first vice president to succeed the presidency of Ghana from the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills. He is the first head of state of Ghana to have been born after Ghana’s independence. Mr. and Mrs. Mahama have three children, Mahama, Sharaf Mahama and Jesse Mahama.
