Early Wednesday, 2nd March, 2022 the owner of one of the most successful football clubs in the world issued a press statement following the pressure and sanction on him as a Russian to release his asset in UK to a different person.
Roman Abramovic has owned Chelsea Football club since 2003 but has publicly declared to sell the club, with Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss claiming he has been offered the chance to buy the club.
He stated that,
“In the current situation,
I have therefore taken the
decision to sell the Club, as I
believe this is in the best
interest of the Club, the fans,
the employees, as well as the
Club’s sponsors and partners.”
Following the public statement of Abramovic, a young Ghanaian twitted on his timeline, calling for the president of the Republic of Ghana and his deputy to go buy and “ruin” Chelsea Football club as he supposedly believes that they have ruined Ghana.
He Twitter, “Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia should go buy Chelsea and ruin it eer”.
