Education Minister Advocates for NPP Retention as Key to Ghana’s Transformation
In a recent gathering at Jachie in the Ashanti Region, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Ghana’s Minister for Education, emphasized the significance of retaining the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the sustained transformation of the country over the past seven years.
Speaking at a ceremony where he presented Christmas gifts to over 500 widows, Dr Adutwum asserted that deviating from the NPP in the upcoming elections could disrupt the positive momentum in various sectors of the economy. He reminded attendees that there is no legal restriction preventing Ghanaians from granting their mandate to a party that has proven its performance, even beyond the customary eight years in office.
Addressing the widows, the Education Minister, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, highlighted the substantial infrastructural development undertaken by the government in the constituency. As part of his annual tradition, Dr Adutwum distributed Christmas gifts, including cloth and tokens, to widows from all electoral areas in Bosomtwe.
Dr Adutwum underscored the unprecedented impact of the free senior high school policy on Ghanaian households, asserting that the NPP is uniquely positioned to manage and sustain this policy. He stressed the need to preserve the party’s legacy under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, declaring the NPP as the optimal choice to drive Ghana’s development anchored on digitalization.
Encouraging constituents to maintain faith in the NPP, Dr Adutwum assured them of continuous development projects and the timely completion of ongoing initiatives across the Bosomtwe constituency. Notably, he pledged the completion of the main road from Kumasi to Kuntanase, currently at Abidjan Nkwanta, as a strategic move to boost the local economy.
As a final note, the Minister urged women to actively participate in the education of their children and grandchildren, emphasizing the transformative impact education can have on families’ fortunes.
