Ayawaso Central MCE Resigns Due To Ill Health

Alhaji Mohammed Ababio Quaye has resigned from his position as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly due to ill health.

The MCE made his intentions known in a viral letter dated July 2, 2023, addressing the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, that the intensity of his illness will not permit him to continue discharging his duty efficiently as expected, hence the need to lay his tools down.

“Your Excellency,

It is with a heavy heart and a sense of regret that I write to formally tender in my resignation from my position as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ayawaso Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, due to ill health.

Over the past six and half years, it has been my privilege and honour to serve the government of Ghana and contribute to the progress of the Ayawaso Central Constituency. However, my current health condition has significantly affected my ability to fulfill my duties and responsibilities effectively, despite my best efforts.

The nature of my illness requires extended medical treatment and a period of rest and recuperationAs much as I would like to continue serving in my role, I believe it would be in the best interest of the Municipality to have someone who can continue to maintain the high standards and efficiency that our government demands.

I take this opportunity to express my warmest and most heartfelt gratitude to Your Excellency, for the opportunity you gave me to serve my beloved country Ghana and the support had during my tenure. It has been an honour to serve under your able leadership”
