August 31, 2023 — In a heartwarming gesture of support, former President John Dramani Mahama presented a two-bedroom apartment and a substantial cash donation to former Black Queens goalkeeper Memunatu Sulemana. The move comes after a recent interview where Sulemana shared her challenging living conditions and financial struggles.

Last week, Memunatu Sulemana made headlines when she revealed in an interview that she was residing in a kiosk and facing financial hardships. The former goalkeeper, who once represented the national women’s football team, the Black Queens of Ghana, expressed her difficulties in making ends meet and taking care of herself after her football career.

Sports enthusiasts, social activists, and political figures have all lauded Mahama’s gesture, highlighting the importance of supporting athletes who have contributed to the nation’s sporting success.

Memunatu Sulemana expressed her gratitude and disbelief at the unexpected turn of events. “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of former President Mahama,” a representative said.
