Cheddar Declares Focus on Salvation Over Presidential Aspirations
Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar or Freedom Jacob Caesar, has unveiled his commitment to being a force for positive change in Ghana and Africa, emphasizing his disinterest in mere presidential positions.
This revelation came during a press conference following the cancellation of the much-anticipated public lecture event, “The Convention,” organized by the New Africa Foundation on January 7, 2024. At the conference, Cheddar introduced himself as the face behind the New Force movement, expressing his intention to utilize the New Africa Platform to discuss his policies and aspirations.
“I am nothing to be scared of, I came to you as your salvation,” Cheddar declared, highlighting his mission to bring about significant development and change in the lives of the people. Despite his initial plan to introduce himself as a presidential candidate, he made it clear that his focus transcends political ambitions.
Cheddar outlined his visionary plans for Africa, expressing confidence in the continent’s potential as the next global influence. His goal is to establish a middle-income economy, free from government interference, with a keen emphasis on regional development and the well-being of its people.
“I am not interested in people’s positions, I am interested in the regions, the humans, the country, the continent, and the resources here,” Cheddar asserted, emphasizing his commitment to showcasing Africa’s capabilities to the world.
The abrupt cancellation of “The Convention 2024” was clarified by the Diaspora Affairs Directorate at the Office of the President. Dr. Nadia Adongo Fynn, the Deputy Director, explained that an unforeseen state event led to the revocation of the venue permission, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused and announcing the refund of Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHc10,000.00) paid for the venue.
Noteworthy speakers, including P.L.O. Lumumba from Kenya, Peter Obi from Nigeria, Julius Malema from South Africa, and R. Arikana from Zimbabwe, were initially scheduled to discuss “Igniting the voices of Africa” at the canceled event. The unexpected twist in Cheddar’s focus has left many intrigued about the future trajectory of his impactful contributions to the region.
