Honorable Francis Kofi Okesu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East in the Oti Region, has been reported dead by the police in Kumasi. The body of the MCE was found on Sunday in a hotel room in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was lodging in Kumasi over the weekend.
According to the Kentinkrono hotel Attendants, Mr. Okesu was seen having series of meetings with random people on Saturday but they realised that he had kept long in the room he booked for a long time the following day.
Mr Okesu is said to have checked into the hotel room on Friday, September 2 with his driver, Sylvester Attah. His driver tried to reach him on Sunday, as they had planned to return to Dambai, but sensed danger when the deceased was not responding.
After alerting the police who forced-opened the room, they found his naked body lying in a supine gesture with his left arm hanging beside the bed.
The police did not find any trace of temper but found spermatozoa on his thighs. They later conveyed the body to Kumasi’s Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
Prominent people like the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, Municipal Chief Executive of Oforikrom, Abraham Antwi, and other security operatives have visited the scene.
