After the unveiling of the nominations for the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), the board opened a one-week window for Errors & Omissions, welcoming inputs from the music industry stakeholders. Following meticulous scrutiny of the submissions, the TGMA board confirms that, barring two exceptions, the nominations list is error-free.
The first amendment addresses the song “Lonely Road” by O’Kenneth & Xlim Kid. Initially submitted as a collaborative work featuring Xlim Kid, it has been clarified that “Lonely Road” is a joint effort between O’Kenneth and Xlim Kid, without the delineation of a featured artist. Accordingly, the nomination has been revised to reflect “Lonely Road” by O’Kenneth and Xlim Kid.
The second correction pertains to Amerado’s track “Kwaku Ananse.” Originally, the board nominated the remix version of the song in the Best Highlife Song category, inadvertently excluding its consideration for the Most Popular Song of the Year category. To rectify this oversight, the board has nominated the original version of “Kwaku Ananse” by Amerado in the Best Highlife Song category and restored its nomination in the Most Popular Song of the Year category.
The TGMA board reiterates its unwavering commitment to fairness throughout the awards process and extends appreciation to the music community stakeholders for their active engagement during the Errors & Omissions period.
Heartfelt congratulations are extended to all nominees for their exceptional contributions to Ghanaian music in 2023. With anticipation building for the milestone 25th-anniversary edition of the TGMA, the board wishes each nominee the best of luck in the upcoming weeks.
